Automations - next steps

The webhooks that we released last year opened many new opportunities for using ActivityInfo to support workflows within your operations. This is inline with our vision of an ActivityInfo that is not just a trusted, centralized system of record for your organization, but also a tool for rapid digitalization of operational processes.

We certainly will continue to support integration with tools like PowerAutomate, but setting up workflows using PowerAutomate is still a big lift for many of the organizations we work with. We believe that by offering sophisticated tools directly in ActivityInfo for automating things like email notifications and approval workflows, we can help digitize a mucher wider array of processes.

So this next version of Automations, which just kicked off development, we aim to make it easy to build these kind of flows all from within in ActivityInfo:

We’re going to shoot for a first version that includes the existing triggers that we’ve implemented for webhooks (record add, edit, and delete) and adds the email action. But once the framework and the editor is in place, we hope to add a wider range of actions progressively.

This can be interesting for many colleagues.
Right now, asking to learn another software outside of AI to manage web hooks can be perceived as an heavy request, so that feature remains unused by us. If the editor for WH is inside ActivityInfo, maybe it will become easier to try this feature

We are VERY much interested in this new feature. This has come up a lot in all of our orientation and launch workshops - notifications regarding a number of different actions, or dates coming up, e.g. reporting deadline dates etc - it’s also linked to approval workflows as well - will this also be included here or is this being looked at separately? I know it was previously mentioned but not sure where it is in the plan
