Currently the way it is automated some words cut off - it would be great if the font size was editable, labels could be shifted to diagonal, and text wrapping could include dashes rather than cutting off words.
Thanks for the feedback, @jlittman_aap.org. Do you mean on the x-axis of bar/line charts, or in tables? If you can share a screenshot that would be very helpful!
I was referring to charts - in this screenshot, for example, I would at least want to have “emergencies” automatically include a dash, but even better would be to be able to reduce the font size and/or make it diagonal. I believe this is also an issue in tables, where if you have long field names they don’t wrap and are hard to read, but that’s less of an issue.
Oh yes, this is not ideal. Let me see if there’s a way we can add proper hyphenation, at least for languages written in Latin text. I need to do a bit more research on hyphenation in other scripts. (@Firas is hyphenation even a thing in Arabic? Devangali or Burmese?)
But I think the key thing that’s wrong here is that the chart is two narrow. Since there are only three categories, there is plenty of room to increase the margin to allow for more space for the labels.
Standby!
Thanks Alex!
Is it possible for me to change the chart width? I only know how to do that in a dashboard, not a notebook or standalone visual. We mostly use notebooks.
Hello! No, hyphenation isn’t typically used in Arabic. line breaks usually occur at word boundaries without inserting hyphens..
Hello, just wondering if this is still be worked on. Thank you!
Yes! It’s just taken a bit longer as we’re focused on the 5.0 release. But I tested the fix against your chart above and this what it will look like once the fix is released:
Amazing, thank you!!
